Lol yea, Germany is such a powerhouse.
Did you know there is a computer game of Axis and Allies called TripleA which is free and has all the scenarios?
Not really... But you should look into getting a game of Tak! It's got simple moves and rules like checkers, but the strategies can be as complex as chess.

It sounds familiar but I can't quite grasp it...
I like Nobody's perfect, scrabble, carcassonne, therapy and doom (though I don't know if their names are the same in the US/UK)
Pandemic is fun. I don't know about therapy and doom. I'll look online. But Scrabble is always hilarious. When I was in England I went to a bar in Wales. The Scrabble set has six vowels, and a ridiculous number of consonants.
Love boardgames! Do them all the time with family and friends :) We love Carcassone, Settlers of Catan, Pandemic, etc. Just learned Ticket to Ride & Dominion as well and really liked it. And of course we play all the classics like Clue, Monopoly, etc.
I have such a cool strat for Dominion: at the start of the game buy two chapels, trash all your cards except for 3 coppers, then buy 3 silvers and trash the coppers, then buy at least 6 golds and trash the silvers. Now that we have so many golds in such high concentration, we can buy provinces every single turn.
The friend who taught me how to play had like 4 or 5 different boxes of Dominion cards, so every game was different. Never had a chance to really learn strategy like that since everything was always changing!
Wait, I don't recognize a single other board game, LOL
