No guest, they aren't. The difference is barely 5°.
It looks different because thats how much of the mountain was fucking blown off. Somethin like the top quarter and one whole side were vaporized.

Those aren't even before and after pics. They are before and now. You can see the cone rebuilding itself in the crater. That didn't begin until long after the eruption.

That's not surprising.
It blasted parts everywhere, makes sense some landed on the news.
