I watched the whole video and she apologized profusely. It was just such a bizarre situation. Why did he choose for her to sing a section of that song with the N word in it? Was the whole purpose to bait her? If it was, it certainly worked. Not a big fan of Kendrick right now.
words are words. either none of them are okay or none of them are. nigga isnt exactly keeping people in the cotton fields anymore, it's just a word now
It’s pretty stupid how humans hold the word nigga/nigger to such a stupidly high standard. People never have the same reaction to it as to kike, wop, chink, or any other slur

Because gets a stick up their collective asses like black people do when they hear a whitde guy say it.
The n-word offends black people, everyone knows this. So don’t say it. Why would you want to offend them when they have enough problems already. I get that this girl was maybe caught up in the moment but it’s absolutely ridiculous to blame Kendrick for it.
It’s all fine for you to be saying the n-word doesn’t offend people anymore but you’re not the targeted person. If you listen to the targeted people, they don’t want you saying it and I think people should respect that more.

While it is offensive, I honestly want the word to lose power.
A lot of things are bogging down the black community, and the obsession with this word is a big one. No other race is more offended than we are when it comes to race, racial slurs, and race jokes. Some of us just start hooting and hollering, like we just evolved yesterday, and that gives racists another thing to throw at us. "Look at these darkies and niggers throwing a fit over some word! So typical!" Granted we give them just as much shit by popularizing the idea of white guilt. But thats the reason why Kendrick did that(at least my perception), or why so many black-owned organizations are racist. They harp on white guilt, and then claim to fix the problems in the black community and dont do shit. They aint revolutionary, they want money like everyone else, and if that word loses power, the whole thing crumbles, and white guilt will be diminished.
It’d be great if that word lost the power that it has now and everyone could use it and no one would be upset. But it hasn’t lost power yet and probably won’t in my lifetime due to racists who use that word as an insult. Kendrick most likely didn’t expect a fan of his to not realise the implications of her saying the word when he’s talked about these issues in his songs.
