This was proposed by a Chinese scientist in 2013 but they failed to prove any consistent results. In fact there was no real difference in grip between wrinkled and non-wrinkled as was found in later studies.

I checked out your links and it looks like you're right. There is no apparent grip advantage with pruny fingers in those new studies. I love science! Thanks for setting me straight, lucky.
