There are theories out there that suggest Gabriella was emotionally abusive to Troy. I don't see it in the first movie and I never saw the third, but there are plausible signs in the second one.

I honestly don’t doubt it. I recently watched the third and I noticed the emotional abuse. I always thought they were a horrible couple and could not stand Gabriella.

I feel the same. She was such an unstable, whiny brat. Poor Troy. He didn't deserve such a crazy girlfriend.
