If I remember the article correctly (I can't be bothered to look it back up), it was about how a ponytail or bun would be better for superheroing because it won't get in their face or be easy for foes to grab, but comics and movies have their hair be loose because it looks better. They're saying not having a superhero with a ponytail is sexist.
really having flowing long hair vs having a ponytail doesnt really change combat function all that much as if you are wasting time grabbing hair you are probably about to get stabbed or shot
Was gonna say, that one character has shorter hair than Thor or Loki did. On top of which, a lot of women prefer to wear their hair down. If you're this hopped up on super skills/talent, then you can wear your hair how you please.
Battle-practical? Probably not. But given the powers a lot of their enemies have, it hardly seems like hair would be the first thing an enemy goes for. There's actual sexism issues in the way the characters of both genders are portrayed, but at this point this is just nitpicking, and expecting female characters to all wear their hair in ponytails or cropped super short is no different than being pissed off because they don't
