Today in the news, during an dig a large metal ball was found with a living snail inside. It's unknown how the snail survived without air and by signs on the exterior it seems to have been buried a very long time.

Ok so Vancouver BC to St John's NL is about 6500km, average snail top speed is 0.047km/h. That comes out to roughly 16 years of travel time. Own two properties on opposite sides of a continent, and move between them once every 16 years.
