The one dream I do remember just happens to be pretty unsettling, or messed up, or sad.
For example, I had a dream that I was on a bus. I suddenly became so overwhelmed with depression and anxiety for some reason that I broke through the window and tried to slit my wrists with the glass. I then jumped out of the bus through the open window in hopes of getting hit only to realize that I didn’t really want to die.
The trick is to remember as much of your dream as possible as soon as you wake up. If you constantly do this you'll start remembering them more and have an easier time holding on to them.

Yeah, I try to do this but I don't remember that before I forget the dream xP
There's a trick you can try. It's called reverse memory recall. Essentially you try and remember the most recent part of the dream then the part right before that led to it and so on and so on. You'll find you can remember more if you're not trying to remember all of it at once or how it started. Most people's dreams are linear, they may be weird but still linear, in that they still follow a action/reaction cause and effect pattern.
I had the worst nightmare like a week ago... it was about a horrible version of Avengers 4. Spider-man lived in Japan and had a roller coaster over his house, Thanos never spoke and built a Megatron, Thor turned into "The Blob" and started "consuming people", Capt was eaten by a Rex and the CGI was so bad the rex never opened it's mouth. The copy was given to me by my brother in my dream and after the movie in the dream I just went ape shit on him like WHY THE FUCK WOULD YOU DO THAT? and then he showed me a massive bag of pot and then I said okay but I need to grab a beer and then I was in a stair labyrinth thing trying to get to my kitchen then I had to pee and I was weighing the beer vs pee argument and then I woke up because I seriously had to pee.
I should also add I'm like 90% sure this was caused by taking the prescription strength Tylenol with codeine in it (300 mg). I stopped the next morning. I'm saving the rest because when I start working at the hookah bar I'm gonna have to move shit so the pain might increase again. As long as I'm on two feet or in an uncomfortable chair I won't fall asleep even if I get slightly drowsy... and they don't last long so I can be lucid when I drive to and fro.
Never going to sleep on then again though. Fuck that.
