I'm glad some people do this. I'm so afraid to go out alone and now this is comforting. Thank you.

That's really smart, actually. Good on both of them

Especially in dark areas, isolated areas, outside of clubs or bars, etcetera...women are targeted everywhere regardless whether the attack goes through or not. Always, always do this. Stop whatever you are doing if a girl (or boy) says this to you. Talk to them like you haven't seen them in 10 years and you've been missing them like hell. You could literally save someone's life by acting like their friend for just a few minutes.

Plot twist: The pretending guy is actually an off-the-clock serial killer.

Tbh hugging a random guy in a dark street late at night who I didn't know would make me uncomfortable as hell, but seems like you have to take your chances sometimes. Also, in this case, the pretending guy was named Gabriella

Smart. Better to play it safe and have a little awkward moment with a stranger then think you can take on someone alone who could be a threat. Like when you see a stranger being hit on and it's obvious they don't like it, I try and make the effort to get them out of that situation by pretending I know them and dragging them away (beforehand you should still try and confirm they're okay with you doing this)

I'm a cynical cunt that mostly comments rank shit on most of the posts here, but this is really wholesome. Good on these two.
