Deadpool's immortality is just the ultimate cockblock at the end of the day, which sets the tone pretty well for that entire franchise.
I was only curious because everything I've seen/read about Deadpool seems to imply he very strongly admires Spiderman (I believe deadpool's suit was actually hinted to be a cast-off one that Peter had rejected when he was just starting out? The design at the very least is said to be inspired by spiderman's costume).
With that in mind, if they'd followed his comic history with Thanos in the movies, add that to infinity war, and I can only imagine the impact of watching Spiderman disintegrate would have on Deadpool. Then again, the Spiderman in those movies is much younger and likely wouldn't be as impressive to deadpool after his dealings with Negasonic Teenage Warhead.
(Side note - haven't had a chance to see deadpool 2 yet, so spoiler warnings would be appreciated if you're planning on mentioning it :] )
I was just referring to Thanos' part of making Deadpool immortal to keep him from Death. If we followed the entire history of any of the characters they'd all have pretty much gotten themselves killed, killed each other, and annhilated the entire world multiple times by now, with hundreds upon hundreds of contradictive shenanigans in between
