I believe this was after he tried to swim the Elfstedentocht, which is a famous long distance ice skating event that goes past 11 cities in the Netherlands’ province of Friesland. He had to be scooped out of the water just before the end due to exhaustion after like 100 hours of swimming

He did 163km in around 48 hours before he had to quit from exhaustion and hypothermia. But serious props to this guy, he had one or two quick powernaps of 30 minutes and then continued swimming. He got people to donate around 5.5 million euro's for cancer research after he survived canver himself.
