My husband when we were first together called me baby doll which I said ok that is sweet. Than he says I want you to call me Daddy or Big Daddy. I said "Ah HELL TO THE NO!! ONLY ONE DADDY IN MY LIFE!! And HE will ALWAYS be MY DADDY!! YOU can be called Babe, Baby, Honey, Sweety, or by your name and that is ALL!" Though now that we are married and we have a kid and animals that know me as Mama and him as Daddy. I will say go to Daddy or ask Daddy and such like that. I never call him Daddy when I am talking to him. I talk to the animals or our daughter to speak to thier Daddy lol
He tried some times to make me call him Dad or Daddy only because he knows it makes me angry and getting me annoyed is his favorite pastime. Lmao
freud & the electra complex - all women secretly want to have sex with their fathers and kill their mothers. calling ur s/o “daddy” is just the first step
That supposedly explains why a woman would be willing to call a guy daddy, I'm more interested in why a guy would get off on being referred to as the male figure in a woman's life who changed her diapers and had sex with her mother
Sorry, your sex life is lame @sephoria223

I'm not personally looking to kinkshame anyone on this. It really is just one more branch off of dominance/submission, which tends to exist in varying degrees in *every* relationship. It just seems a bit of an odd term to me for so *many* people to have gotten hooked on considering the meaning behind it and I was curious what the appeal was. Especially when most people who engage in using the term seem to find it extremely abhorrent to call their s/o "mommy." There are groups that do that, but it seems a wayyyyy less significant number in comparison. Admittedly, it seems a lot of people disassociate the term daddy from familial definitions when they're using it as a sexual term and it becomes closer to calling someone "master" or "sempai" or whatever else.
It's very common and considered as an absolutely normal thing to call your s/o "babe" or "baby"
But do you think the people who call their partner "baby" imagine a newly born child when they do so?
"all women secretly want to have sex with their fathers and kill their mothers. calling ur s/o “daddy” is just the first step"
you think i think of my father when i call my man "daddy"? so you think peopel think of a new born baby when they screw their s/o and go "fuck me harder, baby"?
you cant even capable of not being careless about OTHERS sex life, i can imagine how basic yours is
I guess for me baby is a lot more general term. It can mean a human baby, an animal baby, someone who's acting in an immature manner/crying a lot, or a romantic endearment. I don't really consider it a sexual term personally, whereas that tends to be the way daddy gets used. Additionally, the baby itself is not the one using the term. Little boys/girls by comparison ARE the ones that say "daddy," so to me that's where the variation lies. I suppose it doesn't sound like much personally, but to me those are significant differences
Rude? How about "all women secretly want to have sex with their fathers and kill their mothers. calling ur s/o “daddy” is just the first step"
Isn't that rude and disgusting
Being closed mind about an absolutely personal thing tells me enough so I just speak facts
oh my god lmao read my comment this is not my opinion is a psychosexual theory developed by an old dead dude named sigmund freud!!! i am not close minded
Rosalinas, you're getting defensive and hostile for no reason here. Sephoria223 just stated a theory as a possible explanation for the "Daddy" phenomenon, and didn't even say whether they agree or disagree with it. For all we know they might think it's bullshit, but it is a famous theory by a famous scientist so there isn't anything wrong with referring to it.
Three months ago I was in an internship and the other intern was calling a colleague Daddy. I was like O_O?? Ok maybe that's her father... Nope, that's not... Wow they're really cool about that but calling him Daddy at work? And then I noticed she also picked a female coworker to call "Mommy". She was just really immature.

But does that make it okay for me to state it?
