Nike spokesperson kneels during anthem in protest and now Nike is pandering to that and people are saying he's protesting " oppression " while the women who make Nike shoes make like 20-50 cents an hour
Not to not pick- but more precisely and with less bias:
NFL player Colin Kaepernick fell under controversy when he knelt during the American national anthem before games as a form of protest against things he saw as unequal and hypocritical in American society. He was fired for these actions. Recently his sponsor, Nike, made a commercial featuring Colin Kaepernick. This commercial angers many who did not approve of Nike paying and using a spokesperson who would kneel during the anthem (which many are as a sign of disrespect to America and or its values.) boycotts and backlash against Nike followed. In the midst of all this however, no one is focusing on the fact that there was already valid reason to be upset at manufacturers like Nike who employee what could be called “sweat shop” work conditions and other practices that could be seen as unethical.
