in highschool you could most definitely use a few more minutes between class seeing as you have exactly 5 minutes between classes to
1. use the bathroom
2. get your stuff from your locker if nessesary
and 3. walk to the classroom
and 5 minutes realy isn't enough time to do all of those if your class is even moderately far from the previous one.
in college its not to extremely different as most people take their classes one right after the other however usually its broken up between mwf and T/Th as well as they have the option to spread there classes out through the day if they wish
My first year I had home ec as my first class and science as my second class. Home ec was on the first floor on one side of the building, science was on the fourth floor on the complete opposite side of the building. It was one of only a few classes on the fourth floor, meaning inevitably everyone else would be going to or from the third floor. My locker was on the second floor, so technically on the way, but even if I'd wanted to store my stuff in it between classes I wouldn't have had time. Was a literal marathon sprint up 3 flights of stairs and across a floor, upstream against seemingly every other student on the planet the whole way.
It got even more interesting when the other kids in my home ec class would be dicks or spend 18 minutes arguing over who would wash the dishes (ended up being me almost every day because I didn't have time for that bullshit) and we would be kept late.
I actually was in such a rush on one of those days that I made it all the way to the third floor before I realized I was still wearing my damn apron and had to take it back down
