Maybe it’s like some macabre version of Pokémon? Like:
“Cadavermon! Gotta catch 'em all
It's you and me
I know it's your autopsy
Cadavermon! Oh, you're my best friend
In a world we must offend...”
I think she missed the big point, aka people who tell you getting tested is nasty also imply everything else she mentioned is nasty. Jumping a lot of people without knowing them enough to be confident enough to get them tested BEFORE you have sex is what grosses some people out.
I would agree that there should be no shame in regular or preventative testing. To shame it or to have the act imply shame is counterproductive. At the very least it is less shameful than walking around ignorant that you could be giving diseases to others. However to your point- the shame doesn’t come from being tested. As you say, it comes from the stigma around STD’s and all the other sex ABC’s one would need tested for. A history of incuarable diseases and their horrible effects when untreated, combined with decades of sex Ed which teach kids that having any STD is just about the worst thing in the world, fed by social views on sexual restraint are largely the root of the shame. STD’s don’t make you dirty, a loyal spouse with only 1 partner ever can get an STD from an unfaithful spouse, or many other causes having little or nothing to do with even sex. It’s 2018. No one wants an std but we should stop stigmatizing and mocking them and the people who have them.
Yeah definitely! I may have explained myself wrong, I just wanted to give the reasoning those people have, I don't share these views. I don't give a fuck (haha pun) what people are doing with their bodies and wouldn't make fun of them or think any lower of them if they had an STD.
