The ado stops at the end of the statement. Hence it is without “further ado” than the already imparted ado. “Ado” is to fuss over- to show unnecessary or exaggerated excitement or attention. The keys being that the excitement etc. must be unnecessary or excessive- in other words some excitement or attention may be warranted; and that if it were necessary to mention there would be no further ado, then the statement “without further ado” cannot itself be ado as it was necessary and not excessive.
