same with Australia, i think it was the Dutch arrived first, but on the western coast, which is barren, and just thought "not worth it" and kept going

they never set foot on land, the western coast is just rocks, it's barren, wasn't worth it, but would have made interesting history

true, but to make it to the western coast of australia, they'd have to be really good seafarers
