Very true that an intolerance may not kill you - but you might wish that you were dead when it happens.

If that's your reaction to lactose you'll avoid it for sure. It's just that a lot of people can only digest lactose properly if they're constantly exposed to it, like daily. So for example if you jump the lactose-intolerant bandwagon and replace regular milk by lactose free, once you consume natural milk, you'll get a bit flatulent and your poop is a bit extra unpleasant, but that's not that much of a big deal.
I ended up having a full on gallbladder attack a year ago because I decided consuming a whole wheel of gouda was good. It tasted good but I ended up in the hospital the next day. Half a gallon of milk has given me smaller attacks.
My daughter is allergic to spicy food. The poor thing can't even handle bell peppers. She think pepperoni is to spicy. She can eat it but it's to spice to her so she picks them off. Lol

Middle-class white moms: I'm allergic to gluten too. That'll kill me if I know it's in the food.
I remember helping my sister host a party for her son, and one if the mothers was Really adamant that her daughter couldn't eat gluten. We hadn't been forewarned, so I drove about 2 miles to the store so the poor girl would at least have some cookies. When I got back with a gluten free package of strawberry cookies (eXSPENSIVE) the little girl shook her head and told me she wasn't actually gluten intolerant, but her mom liked to say that so she'd get to talk about it with the other moms. Poor kid.
Honestly I wish that was the case with my daughters allergy to spicy food. Because I am sick and tired of making 2 meals almost every meal. lol
Sometimes I get lucky like just make one bland. But than there is meals where it is like Chilli Enchiladas for us and nuggets and Mac and cheese for her lol.
Ben and Jerrys has dairy free ice cream just saying... ;) if you are doing dairy free cinnamon bun and half baked can still be in your life! I have sort of an "intolerance" to the point I fear whey as a secondary side effect of endometriosis. Dairy= hormones + inflammation + body just cant figure out how to process = pain possibly hospital. CHEESE GODS HAVE FORSAKEN ME I HAD MADE IT 18 YEARS NP EATING BY THE BLOCK W CRACKERS. Sorry meant to just share "the ice cream" but emotional about cheese & life.
Who downvoted my comments?????
This is an actual problem my daughter has had since birth. It goes further than spicy food. It is just easier to explain it as allergic to spice food.
Her stomach can't tolerate alot of things.
The list is huge.
Her life is a mine field of food
Yeah I make light of it. Because I don't want to scare her. We almost lost her a few times. Due to her vomiting. When she eats something she can't handle her body rejectes by vomiting. But it won't stop. She will vomit to the point of dehydration. And still continue.
So imagine your little girl in a pool of her own sweat and tears and vomit and shit and she can't stop and between a gasp for air she says mommy please make it stop.
And all you can do is pour medicine down her that is supposed to stop her from vomiting but she keeps throwing it up. And she is so dehydrated she can't cry anymore. And doctors don't help.
When that happens than you can down vote me!
