I would rather have a sheet cake made with a 2 dollar box of powder made by my mom than any cake worth it's weight in gold made by the highest of world class chefs.
My mom works 12 hour shifts some days in transcription and some in dispatch. No way in hell would I feel anything but immeasurably bad if she put herself out to made a cake.
But you do realize if she did work that 12 hour shift than when got home stayed up to make you your birthday cake. That is true love. That tells me no matter what may happen in my life I would know that my Mom would drop everything just to help me. I would know when I need her the most she be there.
Will I feel guilty of her after working a long day and still making me a cake? Yes. But you can bet I would be at her feet waiting for anything I can do to show her how much that small sacrifice ment to me.
And as of right now my mom is waiting for the results of the her test to see if she has cancer. And all I can think of is all the little things that she did for me that I will miss when the day comes that she joins my dad in heaven.
All the cakes all the braids all the clothes she made all the gifts she gave me all the hugs and all her love.
