Looks like an American Carrier born dive bomber SB2C maybe.

I was thinking an SBD. The vertical tail seems a bit small for an SB2C, but it's hard to tell.
Definitely American though with those Swiss cheese flaps.

Yes, the plane crashed into the ocean but as you can see the pilot is fine. Strange looking parachute he has on his back though.
