Maybe but what changes could you really make? More than likely there would be a small blip around you and then the timeline would continue on as it was going too.
Assuming there is such a thing as separate timelines. It's just as possible that this it.

If time travel is possible then it is a sure thing that there is a thing such as separate timelines, because humans are too stupid and would definitely meddle, which will definitely lead to a different outcome. Imagine a dominos set, even if one piece is out of place then, either the set would not fall down completely or it would go on a whole different route than intended. However, it may lead to a similar outcome, that's one of the possibilities. Actually, with time travel there are a shit ton of possibilities like, you can only travel in past; whatever you do, the outcome would be the same; things you do in future wouldn't affect the past or present; separate timelines and the list goes on. The only way we would be ever sure about time travel is when it would become actually possible.
You could be correct but you can't say it's a sure thing. For all we know time travel is possible but the past is the past. Everything you do in the past is fixed and therefore can only lead to the future we have now. You may be able to travel back and make small changes but because everything has already happened as it has it is impossible to change keystone events and people. This means there are no separate timelines just the one. Or let's say it is possible to change events then from that moment on the entire timeline is rewritten to match the events and nothing that came after ever happened so again there aren't separate timelines. It's actually much more likely that the last one is true than anything else. Now is it possible there are parallel realities where every change still exists? Maybe, but we have no way to prove whether or not it's true. In fact the most we can do is say maybe because no one knows if it's even possible. Right now we can't even tell you what gravity is and
that's something we deal with daily let alone whether time travel is possible, if there are separate timelines, or multiple realities. It's all moot at this point since it's barely even speculation. Kinda like ancient Roman's discussing the engine types of intergalactic aliens 5 million galaxies away.

Yeah. It is kinda moot. I mean, at the end of the road, it's just possibilities and not a definite answer. There's no point in having discussions, anyone doing that just wants to sound smart or wants to exchange information.

And I am not being sarcastic, I actually agree with you.
I've thought about this a bit. Even looked into what it would take to make a two way radio from scratch. That alone would give you a massive advantage in any pre-electric society. But man I have to give kudos to the physicists and scientists that figured it out cause even knowing exactly what you'd need it is almost impossible to make the required components without an industrialized society. You'd have to build up the civilization so much just to get them to the level needed to make the basic components required to send even Morse Code. Of course once you did so moving from Morse Code to voice is relatively simple.

God, I'd bring so many fucking text books with me.
Just explain that shit to entire towns.
I'd be Black Einstien.
Sure if you only traveled back a few hundred years. Any farther and you'd have to learn a new language just to communicate. Even English 400 years ago would sound like gibberish to you until you learned it all over again.

And even in that you need to be able to speak Old English, otherwise you would deemed as some lunatic spouting gibberish.
Just explain that shit to entire towns.
