(This is sort of the opposite but I think it still applies) When I was in labor and there was no chance in HELL of me sleeping because they couldn't drug me yet, my ex (then fiance) was asleep on the couch. I tried to read to distract myself, since the TV would wake him up, and he actually had the audacity to ask me to turn out the bed light too, because "he had a feeling it was going to be a long day, and he would need his rest". I swear, if he'd been any closer I would have hit him with my IV pole.

Psh. My mom not only turns on the light, but also FUCKING TALKS TO ME while I'm asleep, until I wake up and answer. I've told her multiple times but it's an automatism for her.

Bullshit. I've known plenty of girls who wouldn't turn on a single light (other than her phone) when someone was sleeping in a room, even if it means hopping around getting dressed in the dark. Meanwhile I've known plenty of guys who would turn on every light and the TV regardless of how little sleep the other(s) have had. You apparently just know only bitches. Broaden your scope.

i can say the same thing, i'm the type i'll get dressed in the dark, lay out clothes in another room the night before so i don't wake her up, in reply, she turned on the lights and made as much noise as possible on my days off

It also depends on the person. My husband can sleep through anything, so he has no problem with me turning the light on.

i admire people that can sleep deeply, i wake at the slightest thing and spend most nights resting rather than sleeping

I used to be able to sleep like that, literally having water thrown on me didn't wake me a few times. When I was seven I actually slept through a 6.4(something) earthquake while visiting my sister in California and she thought I was unconscious. Sadly I haven't been able to sleep like that for a long time now.

honestly, i never could sleep well, my mothers says even as a baby, little sleep, i can wake to someone closing a car door across the street
