Maybe the way she sees job in general is a huge part of the problem. Granted, not everyone has the opportunity to work in a field they like, but if you do stress becomes a challenge, unobtainable standards are like this final boss at the end of the game, and you get paid to be great at something you like.
She's just saying the questions are a little silly because obviously no one feels that way. In no way is she saying she shouldn't have to work for money.
I'm not saying that either. All I'm saying is, there's a big difference between "selling your soul" and 'proudly doing your best', and only she can make the difference for herself.
I never said that she was saying she shouldn't have to work for money, because that's obviously exactly her point.
Someday Matthew, you'll understand.
For now you can just go back to your safe space and let the adults worry about complex problems like a large chunk of an entire generation of people expecting everyone else to provide for them because FEELINGS.
I love how princess just assumed that OP is a lazy fuck who wants free shit based on one hyperbolic post and then went on a fucking rant about people wanting everybody to cater to their pwecious feewings and how matthewg is a safe space needing snowflake even though his comment said nothing even close to that.
This is just anecdotal and therefore only reflective of my own experience but I've noticed that the "facts over feelings" crowd really likes to jump to conclusions (aka their personal feelings about something) based on almost no facts. The irony.
She can't help it. Don't be too hard on her.
I've always gotten the feeling from her that she was indoctrinated at a young age, and is at this point so used to being spoonfed her own thoughts that she no longer has the ability to reassess when faced with new information.
I thought about what you said, and now I too need to play with Play-doh and coloring books to get over the painful reality i've learned from your insightful wisdom.
Thank you Matthew!
Not debunking and just making sassy sarcastic comments. That's the closest I've ever seen someone admit they've run out of arguments without really admitting it.
I don't know ewqua, your earlier comment about the irony of my post was pretty sassy too, does that mean your point is also discredited?
.
More importantly, what is there to argue about? Our post has disagreements on opinions about a post written by a person who isn't even in the conversation. Our world is up to about 7.53 billion ways the same observation could be interpreted. Do you guys have the audacity to think that the three of us can come up with the "correct" opinion if only we would work together on it?
Meanwhile, the post is still about how ridiculous application/interview questions are, eventually exaggerated to (hopefully) humorous effect.
But please, do continue to abuse the opportunity to ineptly advance your laughably basic feelings.
Ok, I'll engage you guys on the original post content. You really read those questions and not notice a theme about the frustration with the idea of doing things you'd rather not do on exchange for basic living needs?
.
There are plenty of standard interview questions that can be humorously exaggerated to make fun of the interview process, yet 6 out of 6 of these questions diss the 'unfairness' of having to work in order to live.
Princess, I wasn't asked a direct question, there was nothing for me to respond to. That said, question 1-3 are not about that at all, I don't know where you got that from. Question 1 is about a stressful environment, question 2 about unrealistic employers' standards and question 3 about shitty colleagues. Questions 4-6 deal with a similar topic, which I guess could be summarized into not feeling adequately paid for the work you put in. It seems more likely that OP is frustrated about employers exploiting the fact that most people don't know what they're worth, or if they do, they just don't have enough balls to ask for a raise, and this goes as far as the employer trying to find out whether they can get away with underpaying someone at the very beginning, during the interview. But it is all hyperbolic, and I can't see into the author's head, so me trying to seriously figure out if this means this or that would be as foolish as you just proclaiming that OP wants free shit.
