its speculation based on the size of the eye socket and the math of how light works in conjunction with the processes that lizard eyes use to see. It's not really anything past a hypothesis

In the movie "Land of the Last" with Will Ferrell, Will Ferrell's charecter is saying how the T-Rex is an idiot with the brain the size of a walnut. So the T-Rex wraps and gives him a walnut. It is the size of a coffee table lol. By far my favorite interaction any movie had with a Dinosaur. Lol

What they failed to explain in the movie (and which was explained in the book) is that it's the I don't remember wich animal's DNA that gave this one movement based vision
