Fast food workers don't literally feed anyone. They are part of a convenience. They are not required at all. He is entirely correct in that slinging burgers is supposed to be a transitional position. You are not supposed to stay in that job.
There are multiple reasons raising the minimum wage helps no one. There are multiple reasons that minimum wage jobs shouldn't get a pay raise anyways. Increasing the minimum wage will in turn increase the cost of living by at the least an equal amount and at the most by a percentage more. Not only does this only have superficial benefits to the people getting a pay raise it makes it harder on everyone else that didn't get an increase in pay by making everything else cost more for them. It also gives false incentives to stay in entry level jobs. Makes it seem more viable to never leave a transitional position because of a false perception of increased living conditions.
There is also the fact that out of anyone that deserves a pay raise the...
people getting PTSD from saving lives in emergency service positions should be getting it first and foremost. Someone tossing around fries should not be getting paid the same as someone sacrificing their mental and physical health to work 12 hour shifts on the truck running emergency calls or someone taking emergency calls over and over and over keeping a professional composure as the person on the other end of the phone panics and cries at their friend bleeding out in front of them.

Seriously, I'm not being sarcastic, because from what I've seen, despite Trump's efforts, few big job makers are breaking ground here, and many of the biggest employers who are based here are actually doing mass layoffs. Even Levi's which is considered an American icon, is produced almost exclusively put of the country.
Because Texas is practically self sustaining, especially economically, due to multiple internal industries, such as oil, cattle, agriculture, as well as having numerous pivotal ports. Its why I moved back during the recession. Unfortunately the rest of the country isn't that lucky.
They are now almost exclusively outsourcing except for a single piece that is uber expensive. And unemployment really doesn't factor into the subject of outdated and unlivable wages. Just because someone has a job doesn't mean they can still pay their bills or put food on the table.
Minimum cost of hiring and maintaining an employee goes up -> minimum cost of item or service of company that has to hire and maintain employees goes up -> situation stays the same for minimum wage employees and gets worse for anyone above minimum wage as everything increases in price without a raise in pay
