@bethorian ancient Greece was a bunch of individual nation states, I assume you're mostly talking about Athens? With an agricultural economy propped up by slaves taken in war, so... I disagree. My first thought was Greece too, but I don't think it's true
I just want to add that capitalism by itself doesn't work. Britain during the industrial revolution is proof of this. Everyone thought that if the companies were left to devide everything themselves the working class would benefit as well. Instead the working poor got even poorer and the rich got richer until the government had to intervene and make some boundaries. Not saying communism is better. Just thought that you should know that raw capitalism isn't a good idea either.
