Why not both?

Depends on your mood. The unbrushed (right) side is fun, playful, but also powerful and free. The brushed (left) side is sophisticated, underspoken, strong, and yet delicate. The pairing with events and outfits is also key. For instance- the left side would look equally at home in a formal gown as it would in a tee shirt and a very casual almost “grunge” look as a justaposition to the disorder and seemingly unkempt outfit. The right side would look stunning in a gown, but does “business casual” better than totally dressed down- because then there’s too much in one place. Unless that is ones style. Overall- the left side is a little more cold, aloof, serious, heavy. The right side is warmer, more playful and friendly, and disarming. That’s my two cents. I don’t think either side is a better look- just that they give different looks. But that’s part of the fun of long hair- for the potential struggles- you can do a lot with it!

Well, my hair can do both, it kinda turns into a mix of both if I brush it quick when it’s all tangled, then I ruffle it and it ends up looking pretty neat. But I feel like anyone should let their mane go free, but should still be tamed at least, but be unique to their true nature. My hair somehow still looks decent after all the dying of it but all I do is brush and wash it and I try not to cut it too often, only to keep it healthy. I feel like a persons hair should define them and mine does that and more. In my opinion of course.

Lol. I’m glad you are happy with your hair. As you allude, at the very least our hair is a part of who we are, and the image others see of us, so being able to be happy with it certainly makes life a little better. Personally I too tend to prefer to go for a more free style wether my hair is long or short at the time. I certainly do appreciate a “neater” or more intentionally styled look, but I think many people underestimate the effort that can often go in to looking “effortless,” especially when one has a difficult medium to work with. Keep taking care of your hair, and keep rocking it- both ways look great.

Unbrushed is great. Cool messy hait style. Brushed feels too formal

id say brushed but only because unbrushed hair gives me flashbacks to tangles.

Oh trust me, my hair gets tangled so bad. I just brushed it again for the night and not 5 minutes later it’s tangled. And I’m just sitting down.
