Because H is the 8th letter of the alphabet, so 88 is HH which is short for Heil Hitler

it's a joke people are talking about dates in their username so when the username gasthejews88 showed up he joked about the year 1988 being related to nazis, which is not if you've read your history right, but then they found out his username "gasthejews" is a dead give away to his nazi online persona and the "88" has nothing to do with nazis

we all understood the gas the jews part i was just initially confused on why the 88 would be a nazi thing but i dont really feel like talking about this anymore.
