Instead of blaming your problems on someone else, realise it's up to everyone to make a better world, and there are dozens of people your age in your position who don't victimize themselves or blame others and they are thriving
What I've learned as a manager is that millennials don't want to start at the bottom and work their way up, they think they should start at the top because they graduated from college. Guess what? So has most everyone else.
It's not "millennials" it's the "younger generation." All throughout history, the previous generations have ALWAYS seen the newer generations as lazy, entitled, etc. Each new generation has things that the previous one did not. Also...why is it always millenials vs baby boomers? Where are the Gen Xers in all of this? Or did we just forget about them?
what's so bad about living with your parents anyways?
I've not finished university yet and been living under the same roof with my parents for the last 21 years and they honestly want me to live with them forever and ever!
do your parents hate yall that much? that they cant wait to kick you out? are you that sick of your own parents, the people who gave birth to you and raised you and care about you?
i went on a short getaway with my friends for 5 days and i already missed my family (especially my mother) dearly, i couldnt help but think about them and how exciting they would be when i return.
and if you wanna talk about independence and maturity, you can be independent and mature while living with your parents, you can help them with the bills, be responsible about the household and your surrounding.
most teenagers dreaming about moving out dont think about being responsible, they only think about how they gonna mess shit up, party, smoke weed and drink alcohol.
Or: Baby Boomers have failed to raise their children with the knowledge that there is a world full of opportunity out there. And that it's up to them, and only them, to go make something of it.
Hard times make strong people. Strong people make good times. Good times make soft people. Soft people make hard times.... again. And again.
..... take a guess where we are right now......
You’re an idiot boomers weren’t strong if they were they’d have restrained themselves but no they were the soft people the people who couldn’t live without excess and now look at where we are left in a world devoid of opportunity unless you want a dead end trades job.
The only way this world is "devoid of opportunity" is if you're a lazy, whiny, self-important little asshole that thinks everything should be handed to them. People are making millions of dollars a year recording themselves playing video games, creating unboxing videos, product review videos, random commentary videos, self published books, self produced music, hand made products, cheesy little mobile games. There are opportunities today that didn't even exist a few decades ago. Then there are people like you, sniveling about not being able to make a living working at a fast food restaurant. I know dozens of people that put in 2 to 3 semesters at the local community college, received a certificate, got an entry level job in IT or the medical industry, making pretty decent money to start off with, and now have good paying careers. Make something happen instead of pissing and moaning about what you don't have.
Maybe you're an idiot for thinking that I somehow implied that boomers were the strong generation?
.
I do, however, know that you're an idiot for thinking trade work is both below you and a dead end. Trade work is responsible for your entire squishy lifestyle.
.
But hey, thanks for strengthening my initial point with your assumptions, your claim that the world is "devoid of opportunity", and your unwillingness to try something you clearly know nothing about.
.
Keep that attitude up kiddo, i'm sure it'll open doors for you.
Right... tell us all how it's the baby boomers fault that you took out a $200,000.00 loan to major in Art History and then cant find a job that pays you enough money to pay down the loan...
Yea! The problem is all you darn kids who diddnt do these specific things that work for some people but obviously fall apart if more than a few tried to use them! It totally normal for 40+ hour a well jobs to fail to make rent money + essentials in semi urban settings!
All due respect, if you major in a field with almost no jobs out there/low paying jobs, and then you cant find a job/make more money, the you made the decision to do so and need to accept that or make the move to a different field of study/work. The world doesn't revolve around you and your wants.
