It is true. While horses are kind of skittish and use their speed to get away from danger, mules and donkeys fight. That's why you're more likely to get bit by a donkey/mule than get kicked by one.

Can confirm. Mules and donkeys are mean, territorial things. And those bites hurt. Pissed one off as a kid. Never again xD
