Survived implies they didn't die. They did die. They didn't survive the day. They died. They were not alive, which is a requirement of survived to be true. They might have survived the ordeal but they did not survive the day.
But if they were dead, they would not be able to read this post, meaning that it would not matter if they are alive or dead right now, as long as they are alive when they read the post, making it true for everyone that reads it.
that's not true at all. If you died during day x and were not alive for the remainder of day x you did not survive day x. That does not however prevent someone from being resuscitated during day x+1 (henceforth day "y"). Someone being resuscitated during day y does not affect the fact that day x was ended with the person being dead ergo said person did not survive day x and is currently alive to be able to read the post.
Just as one would not say that you completed iteration 1 of a test after completing the one after you would not say that you survived a day you died in if you did not infact remain alive until the end of it.
I have this thing where I just keep reminding myself that a future me is currently shouting at me that everything will be fine. Present me has done that to past me more than once before, so what are the chances of me being wrong?
