What the fuck kind of question is that? Does it truly matter if they "respected" the rooms? Even if every single person absolutely trashed and wrecked their room (like so many rock stars, teenagers, and hardcore partiers have done), isn't that better than people freezing to death outside?
dosn't answer the question though, were the rooms in the same state when the left as when they entered. you can get all high and mighty asking if it matters, to the hotel owners whose rooms get trashed, it does.
After doing the 30 seconds of googling that you apparently won't, I cannot find any mention of these rooms being messed up. The owner of the Amber Inn was nothing but supportive of the efforts to house people and even lowered the rates so more rooms could be used. Not to mention, there were hundreds of donations to both the organisers and the hotel - enough to cover any damages.
Why do you even care about that? What are you trying to prove? So if a few of them weren't respectful, we should just let all homeless people freeze to death? Like, I don't get what's your reason for even asking this question.
not really care, i'm curious if it happened, how many, what repercussions occured if any. you think because i'm not in the situation, i should ask questions? never find out more, or learn anything because some overly sensitive twat will take offense?
Would you make this exact same question if they were people who had lost their homes at a hurricane and someone payed their bedrooms? My wild guess is that the first thing that will come to your mind wont be "oh but did they behave like human beings??????"
And let me tell you something, if by any chance that would be your reaction, you are equally cynical.
Bruh this is not about not asking questions out of curiosity because someone might get offended somewhere. This is about how out of place the question is. If the first thing that pops into your mind when someone offers to help people in need is "okay but like did they appreciate it enough", there's something wrong. You don't help people to get them to kiss your feet, you help them because you're a decent fucking person.
i've helped people before, out of generosity, never took pics, not claim credit or likes, just for the sake of helping someone who needed it. how often do you see those that help others, only for fb, twitter or instagram purposes? helping other to seek gratification and recognition by others is just attention seeking. the ones that truly are the "heroes" are the ones that remain anonymous and not seek the spotlight. i'm not a decent fucking person, i try every day to stay afloat.
And let me tell you something, if by any chance that would be your reaction, you are equally cynical.
