America has extremely heavy protections against discrimination on the basis of sex. Most first world countries do.

I was assaulted in my own apartment. Literally it can happen anywhere and as mentioned above, creating spaces like this is only giving the women a false sense of security, as well as creating a neon target sign for potential predators
