One thing that just drove to home about how little the Dursleys cared about Harry was the fact that the house HAD ANOTHER BEDROOM!! IT WAS A 4 BEDROOM HOUSE!!! He could of EASILY had a real room to himself but they rather see him in a closet under the stairs.
I mean what the hell man.

Dudley deserves a second bedroom clearly. He has so many gifts for being such a good boy. It doesn’t matter they’re all broken or unused
