So one time (actually several times, often because he was stupid) my male cat had to have a cone put on. At the time the house I lived in had a living area about four stairs down from the kitchen, which was elevated. The kitchen platform had a Bannister around it, much like the typical wooden kind you'd find on a staircase.
'
This is all important because one day, while in the living area, the cat got the bright idea that he was going to jump up through one of the gaps in the Bannister and into the kitchen. Which would have been fine except for the cone, which was too big to fit through. He jumped anyway. Full-speed projectile.
'
Needless to say he didn't attempt that again until several weeks after the cone was removed.
