Still my favorite city sightseeing/vacationing-wise. You don't even have to buy weed if you're chill about smoking with a random in a wide open park... or a drum circle... or a poetry jam... or a dude just lying on a tie dye blanket... the point is... wide open park smoking weeeeed!
@xvarnah when did you go? I've heard of this needle problem (which is fucked up), but I haven't been there since... 2010 was it? Something like that. The deer corpse... idk that was prolly Dirty Mike and the boiz. I find the homeless people hilarious, but I'm talkative when publicly intoxicated (and you can ride around on bikes plastered in downtown!). The sea lions are seasonal, but when they are there I find them them hilarious and honk with them. The hills are an epic workout, especially on a bike, those last two are just awesome. My biggest issues are fog and parking. SF is, without question, the worst place I've ever experienced when it comes to parking.
San fran was one of the first cities I got to see a deer corpse on the highway with garbage filling it's decomposing body, needles abandoned all over the bathrooms, homeless people aggressively panhandling as well as strategizing what shifts they were going to work, sea lions mingling with boats, street hills going up at a 90 degree angle, a woman with a cat on her head, and bread in the shape of a crab
This is home for me; I'm actually a native San Franciscan and it breaks my heart that the powers to be have let it go to crap. But I do believe it's still one of the most beautiful cities I know. It's just really bad that they haven't handled the homeless population correctly nor the garbage and graffiti.
