This is total BS. Guys don't get burned for assuming things but for DOING things based on a wrong assumption. That's helluva difference. So even if she invited you explicitly to have sex with her, and she changes her mind when you're standing naked and "exited° in front of her, all ready to go, and she is asking you dress up and leave, the thing to do is to dress up and leave. If she invites you to take a shower, maybe she wants sex, maybe not. You will have to live with this uncertainty and will eventually find out, or maybe even not. And there's nothing you can expect or demand. It's not a game with set rules that are generally agreed upon, where anyone can demand fulfillment of a promise made.

Don’t listen to the virgin about being burned. No sane female would invite someone working on their car as a favor to take a shower after fixing her car.
