you can close it with the sound playing, you just have to upgrade it by paying.

Yeah, I think they mean they don’t wish to pay. Honestly, it’s such a small feature. Other music players do it just fine for free. YouTube is just being greedy.
Actually a lot of the times it's companies like UMG who put out the claims/strikes. Although the YouTube automatic algorithm picks up on some of the music, most of the time it's just manually claimed. There's also a real problem going around with false claims by completely random people on big name channels.
