episodes don't just fall out of canon. They would have to actively state that those episodes are no longer canon which would bring attention to said episodes so if they gave enough of a shit to get them taken out of canon officially they would probably rather just not remind everyone that they exist by doing something that someone would definitely notice and definitely post somewhere and spread
