That is why when you don't know if the party is costumes or not always go as something you just need a prop for. Like a witch you just need a pointed hat and black clothes or a cowboy you just need a toy gun a cowboy hat jeans and a plaid shirt or be a Charles Angels just have a nice outfit and a mini gun. See these you can easily just have the props removed and still look like you are in normal clothes. Plus if it is Halloween and you show up little said props some might go... "O how cute you are a _____!"
