The second article- asides being almost 10 years old, also states specifically that the author was attending a conference which was geared towards improving the situation of men. If we are trying to disprove the patriarchy, or show that in today’s world men have no shelters from violence- I might ask for citations from less than a decade ago- and I might point out that a large scale conference for change which acknowledges the short comings of the industry and the plight of men doesn’t really paint men as marginalized and ignored.
Now- I have the personal opinion that men aren’t treated quite as they should in domestic violence cases, family court, things like that. Men are often looked at as guilty until proven innocent, less in need of help, and less capable as parents because they are men. We need to change that. But we can acknowledge that men have struggles as all people do, without disowning and trying to tear down or discredit women for pointing out their struggles. That’s like saying you don’t need a doctor when you’re injured badly because you need a surgeon because your best friend needs a kidney. Both are pressing needs- you can see a doctor and they can see a surgeon. It doesn’t have to be one or the other- and the fact men suffer doesn’t disprove a patriarchy any more than the fact A King doesn’t have absolute power and no worries disproves a monarchy.
There was a few times I wished I'd have known about any shelters local to me when my ex was acting up, at least until I stepped up and shipped her back to her parents.
I think this kind of statement is a bit self-centered.
I mean of course in a country like the us the different treatment of women and men is minimal and abuse is sadly happening to everyone. But the problem lies in other countries where women are treated as an item that can be sold by men. And the problem ist that these women believe that this is just the way it is and nothing could be changed. And that is what feminism fights against.
So no, you personally don’t need feminism but the world surly needs you to believe in it.
(I’m sorry for my English, it’s not not my first language)
Just because you need feminism doesn’t mean men don’t need help too. You can support multiple issues at once.

Someone downvoted you for...reasons unknown. Possibly pure stupidity. Maybe it’s scorn. Whatever the case, I gave you a thumbs-up to even out the bullshit.
This is actually not true. I'm an advocate in a domestic violence shelter in Kentucky. In cases of domestic violence, 95% of victims are women. Also, we have a men's shelter as well, as it is legally mandatory
To be fair- I imagine that the statistics vary place to place and based off of wether one “averages” a state, country, or world occurrence. But she could still be wrong- I’m no expert on the matter. But I do agree with your overall sentiment that this is half cocked ignorance at best- I just wanted to be fair to her in saying we don’t know precisely where her data is from, when, or who it represents.

There are a few. She’s smart enough to post pictures on the internet but I guess google was too hard to figure out.
