*Purported to be ~300. Scientists cannot utilize vertebrae, because of its softness. They instead determine age via measuring protein spikes in their eyes, due to the proteins not decaying. They look for spikes in the protein creation that align with events such as atomic bombs. Interesting stuff.

They actually all go blind because of a parasite thathe attacks their eyes.

I know. The parasite is unique to the Greenland shark. They have a phenomenal sense of smell, but it's not the same.
