Well there's only 340,000 people in the entire country, makes sense this might be something they'd be concerned about

They also have to deal with the founder effect. They were founded by a relatively small population and were quite isolated. Thankfully they kept extremely accurate genealogical records and so were able to avoid inbreeding for the most part.
