I guess we've been shipping garbage to them and they don't want it anymore

"More than 100 of the containers were shipped to Manila by a Canadian company in 2013 and 2014, improperly labelled as plastics for recycling.
'
Customs inspectors discovered they actually contained garbage, including soiled adult diapers and kitchen trash."

This story is a literal dumpster fire
If i remember right it wasn't even the government that sent it but a private company. I don't think the company still exists otherwise they would/should be the ones forced to go and get it
^ indeed. It says a Canadian company was behind it, not Canada as a whole. Which makes infinitely more sense. Nevertheless Canada has known about it for years. I guess we attempted to ask them to dispose of it on their end and they said no.

Declare war ? Duterte is a murderous , insane prick. He shit all over his friendship with the US. He probably thinks China will back him while their two countries are contesting ownership of resources of the Yellow Sea island. Killed a ton of people for drug use. I don't think that he realizes how strong the US/Canada friendship is after you get past the silly jabs at each others country.
So far his definition of war from what I saw seemed to mostly entail shipping all the garbage back to us. Which is really more likely to result in ocean contamination I would think, but who knows

Tbh I think Canadians and Americans themselves really enjoy being neighbours and whatnot, but sometimes the political shenanigans make me wonder just how supportive our governments really are of each other
Close enough to share joint air command at NORAD . I would have been willing to go to war against a country that attacked Canada (when I was younger ). I use to go across the boarder pretty regularly , years ago. I was very sad when the idiots on both sides started booing each other's national anthems at hockey games after 9/11. Canada jumped to help out , especially the rescue teams. I still love Canada. It's always the small minded idiots that start shit that goes past friendly ribbing.
