There is very small group of films that depend on script. More over: huge part of films with predictable plot. Imho, now we have artificial pumped up "no spoilers" cult.
Texas Ranger made a very good point about distinguishing the film from the experience- so I won’t go there much. What I will say is that there are many types of movies. Some use relatively simple plots but cinematography, cuts, and other “tricks of the trade” to build art. Avant-garde films and block busters alike share this. The plot summary of Pacific Rim or Die Hard etc. isn’t Shakespeare. The effects and characters and way it’s handled make those films- or sometimes just mindless excitement. Fury Road is a spectacle. It isn’t compelling literature. But it’s not bad writing to have spoilers ruin it. If anything some of the best writing is ruined by spoilers. Some of the great works of literature hinge on certain details given to the reader that give away the plot but go unnoticed. Plot twists and subtlety.
