A bit like comparing apples and ferrets, if you want to use those specific things. A barrier, which is what a wall is, worked down on the Texas/Mexico border and a larger barrier, the river, worked on the Michigan/Canadian border. Specifically at the Detroit/Windsor point. Now if you'd like to bring up all the cultural and governmental differences with Mexico and the US and then compare them to the differences between the US and Canada you'd be making a more appropriate comparison. It doesn't necessarily mean the Canadian is wrong but it does mean they suck at comparing things.

Detroit is full of Democrats, and texas is full of conservatives. Thats the real reason. Most of your high murder rate places tend to be heavy Democrat population areas. In 2012 the city of Chicago had more gun related deaths than the entire state of arizona. Moral of the story, lock up your liberals so they cant shoot anyone.
