Oh...kay...well...what do you personally define as “Republican”? To which era do you refer? Why would you owe anything if you've already paid it? I'm in the UK and you only do a tax return if you're self-employed, otherwise it's sorted by your employer. I tried googling the US system and got very confused!

Because you could end up being owed money back depending on how much you have taken per pay cheque because you have to factor in things like interest earnings and deductibles and shit.
