Somewhat true. I believe black ants are mostly passive but there are things like bullet ants. There are red ants that are passive as well but most are hostile and defensive

There's black ants here called Jumping Jacks and they bite you (it feels like a really hot knife) and they will CHASE YOU, not like scurry after you for a bit, they legit jump after you for meters if you don't sprint away.
