Alternate version: The elder god of the children of the forest and the lord of light are lovecraftian horrors from the beyond. The children figured out they can use a human as a host for the raven to work his evil in our world. The nightking was a lesser entity of the beyond bound to human form to serve but rebelled against his dark masters. His goal is to kill the raven in physical and ethereal form. He and his dead armies are immune to the control or manipulation of the raven. He attempts to build a force of the dead to find and kill the raven as he has in the past- knowing that prejudiced men and those manipulated by the raven will try and stop him. He gets closer than ever to ending the cycle but is “killed” in physical form by Arya and returned to the beyond. With the armies of men in ruins the raven is now unopposed in a perfect position to finally devour our world- thanks to his and the lord of lights plan working better than they could have hoped of course.
