I don't mind the ones before or after a video so much but a 30 minute video with three ads in it, may as well watch tv at that point.

Totally agree. I shut down YouTube immediately an ad pops up (not the little boxes but the whole full blown thing) and do something else. Since YT started doing it (and it's getting a lot worse now), I have found far more interesting stuff to look at on other sites.
